The Flashers consist of a generator with 4,000J power for single cell testing or up to 40,000J power for 3 x 4 meters PV modules, and a lamella light source, which can be used for horizontal and vertical measuring set-ups.
For measurement and load simulation BERGER developed their Pulsed Solar Load as processor controlled three-channel measuring and load simulation devices. They are used for the registration of I-V curves of photovoltaic solar modules, arrays or single cells according to DIN EN 60904-1:1993 and IEC 904-1
During the last five years BERGER Lichttechnik additionally focused on the development of software and handling systems that optimize their flashers for use in assembly lines and large production environments.
PSL for Windows is an application that allows full automation in diverse production environments. It recognizes modules via barcodes and performs all measurements of photovoltaic characteristics automatically. Labels with relevant classifications of the module are printed and all data is saved to the company's database.
BERGER has produced complete, no-operator-needed testers in cooperation with leading developers of automation technologies. These highly integrated systems automatically take measurements of all power and safety requirements for final inspection according to IEC 1215, EN 61215, UL 1703. This includes high-voltage, insulation, and ground leakage testing.
One of BERGER's classics, the PSS 40kJ Pulsed Solar Simulator is being used worldwide in astronautical engineering since 1986.
